Cup Dessert

Cup desserts are the mini cup filled with the joy of delicious cakes which comes in individual serving sizes. They are perfect for parties, small gatherings and anytime you want to enjoy a sweet indulgence.

These are somewhat similar to the taste of cakes but one can customize these differently according to taste, Here I am going to share the recipe of most delicious and widely preferred chocolate cup dessert which is not only the favorite dessert of children but adults also enjoy to calm their small cravings for chocolate or sweets. To make it healthier option some like the mixture of chopped dry fruits including almonds, cashews, peanuts, pistachios and melon seeds as well which go well with chocolate and vanilla flavor.

So lets bake together.

Chocolate Ganache

  • Dark Chocolate – 300 gm
  • Fresh Cream – 150 gm
  1. Add the Chopped dark chocolate into warm fresh cream and mix it gently until no lumps are seen.
  2. To make it more shinier you can add 1 tbsp of butter which will make it more glossy.

 

Whipped Cream

Ingredients required

  • Heavy Cream-             3cup
  • Chocolate ganache-    5-6 tbsp
  • Cocoa powder    –         3tbsp
  • Sugar  –                          6tbsp
  1. Add heavy cream in a mixing bowl, whip it using a electronic whisker on low speed.
  2. Add chocolate ganache, cocoa powder, sugar and can add vanilla if you like the taste of vanilla. it is completely optional.
  3. You can use whip it if you want to make it more stable in less time.
  4. Whip the cream until it gives stiff peaks.

 

Ingredients for bread

wet ingredients

  • Oil – 1/2 cup
  • Sugar -3/4cup
  • Vanilla essence – 1tsp
  • Curd – 1 cup.

Dry ingredients

  • Baking Powder – 1tsp
  • Baking Soda – 1/2 tsp
  • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder – 1/4cup
  • All Purpose Flour – 1+1/4cup

Instructions

  1. Take a mixing bowl sift dry ingredients including all purpose flour and cocoa powder.
  2. Take another mixing bowl add oil, sugar, curd and vanilla. Mix them properly for around 2-3 minutes using a hand whisker.
  3. Add and mix baking powder and baking soda in the oil mixture and wait for 2 minutes it will form bubble when they react with curd.
  4. In the mean time dust your pan with oil and  all purpose flour or you can use butter paper as well
  5. Now add the dry ingredients mixture of cocoa powder and all purpose flour to the oil and curd mixture. mix them using the hand mixture.
  6. The consistency should be thick and flowing, if the batter is too thick you can add 2 tbsp of room temperature milk.
  7. Now transfer the batter into the pan tap it twice to remove the formed air bubbles.
  8. Its time to bake the cake for 30-35 minutes in a preheated oven at 350 degree F or 180 Degree C.
  9. When the bread is baked let it cool on a cooling rack for 10 minutes.
  10. Cut the cake into layers using a cake cutter or leveler and cut them again into shape of your cup.
  11. Now add a layer of cake bread into the cup them add the layer of whipped cream. You can increase or decrease the quantity of whipped cream according to your taste.
  12. The next layer should be of chocolate ganache which should of 1 tablespoon.
  13. Add some chopped dry nuts of your choice and some chopped chocolates as well. It is a completely optional step. You can skip or add topping any of your choice.

 

Tools required

  • Mixing bowls: To mix wet and dry ingredients separately, for whipping cream and making ganache.
  • Hand whisker: To combine dry ingredients well.
  • Electronic whisker: To prepare the whipping cream.
  • Cups or Jars: To prepare cups.
  • leveler or Cake cutter. To cut the layers of bread evenly.
  • Baking Pans: To bake the cake sponge.
  • Parchment paper: To line up the baking pan.
  • Oven: To bake the Cake.
  • Measuring cups and spoons: To accurately measure the ingredients.
  • Weighing machine: To weigh  the cream and chocolate for ganache.
  • Piping bags and tips: For decorations of cupcakes.
  • Cooling rack: To cool the sponge completely.

Time required

Preparation time – 30 minutes

Baking time – 55 minutes

Cooling time – 20 minutes

Total time – 1 hour 45 minutes.

 

Notes

The batter should be lump free.

Always pre-heat the oven while baking.

While mixing the batter use cut and fold method.

The movement of hand should be in one direction while whipping the cream.

Do not forget the sift the dry ingredients before adding.

The measurement of all the ingredients should be accurate for the desired taste and flavor.

Do not overwhip the cream otherwise it will spoil the texture.

The temperature while making the ganache should not be very high. Always warm the fresh cream on low temperature.

These cupcakes are a friendly recipe. You can try creativeness in different ways here. So these are some ideas to enhance the taste of your dessert:

  • Fruit filling: Some fruits go very well with chocolate. After adding the cream in the cup you can garnish it with some chopped fruits of your choice but these are some of the best option:
  1. Strawberry
  2. Raspberry
  3. Blueberry
  4. Passion fruit
  • Hazelnut: Add some crushed hazelnut with the chocolate whipped cream or you can also use it as a garnish ingredient.
  • Mint flavored chocolate cup: It can be used as a garnishing ingredient which elevate the look and flavor of the cup cakes. Add crushed peppermint leaves on the top of the cupcakes.
  • Nuts: Crushed nuts of your choice will give your cupcakes a nutty flavor, you can try almonds, cashews and pistachios on the top.
  • Caramel or Chocolate Garnishing: For extra richness of chocolate add a layer  of caramel after cream or can drizzle it on the top to give an elegant look. Add chopped pieces of chocolate on the top
